One Percent of Something 1%의 어떤 것 Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The 2016 Korean mini-series starring Ha Seok-Jin as Lee Jae-In and Jeon So-Min as Kim Da-Hyun. Also known as “1% of Anything,” a remake on the 2003 television drama.

Brief summary: Lee Jae-In is a prideful and manipulative CEO. Kim Da-Hyun, on the other hand, is a humble schoolteacher. When Da-Hyun saves the life of an elderly mystery man (none other than Jae-In’s grandfather and the chairman of SH group) intends to pay her back in big ways! He leaves his fortune to her and the grandsons are only permitted a portion if they date or marry Da-Hyun. If one thing is for sure about Jae-In, he’s not about to let this opportunity slip through his fingers.

This is a mini-drama, so we can’t quite judge it with the same standards that we would a normal television series. There’s not as much development time and the style is a bit over-the-top.

The acting was talented (especially on the part of Lee Jae-In) and the story was decent. I would have liked to see it drawn out over 16 or 20 one-hour episodes. The “contract marriage/relationship” theme never gets old for me!

But this one was cute! Exactly the short fling I was looking for! 4/5 stars!
