★★★

The 2016 comedic Korean drama, starring Kim In-Kwon and Rain as Kim Young-Soo/Lee Hae-Joon, Kim Soo-Ro and Oh Yeon-Seo as Han Gi-Tak/Han Hong-Nan, Lee Min-Jung as Shin Da-Hye, and Lee Ha-Nui as Song Yi-Yeon.

Brief summary: Kim Young-Soo, a sweet hardworking department store manager, and Han Gi-Tak, a gang-fighter-turned-culinary-artist, are two men that are dead. They meet at the train station of the afterlife and get along very well, but on the train to heaven both of them decide that they'd rather live, so they jump off the train and find themselves landed in the office of the desk-angel Maya. Maya gives them a rare chance to return to the mortal world. They have two months to put the issues they left behind in order and then they must return to heaven. Kim Young-Soo wakes up in the body of a very attractive young man, who apparently looks exactly like the new branch manager at the department store, and Han Gi-Tak wakes up in the body of a very pretty young woman (a little awkward and inconvenient). There are just three rules the two of them must abide by: 1) they cannot reveal their true identities, 2) they cannot pursue revenge, and 3) they can't get involved in the lives of the humans. But can they really keep it up for the whole two months without mishap?

This drama is really cute and light-hearted. It's organized, so the story makes sense and there's a plot to follow, and it's so easy to laugh with!

There's not much to build a ship with in this drama. The story is about two men that are separated from their loved ones by death, temporarily resurrected, only to come back in unrecognizable faces. It's a bit of hard barrier to cross and there's not really a way to fix the ending into how you'd like it to be. The character that I really fell for in this drama was Choi Seung-Jae (played by Lee Tae-Hwan). He proved to be one of the only stable characters in the drama, reliable and sturdy!

The thing that bugged me a little in this drama was that the program presented by the office angel Maya seemed a little pointless. They would be able to return to the land of the living for two months and "settle affairs," but then they have to return with Maya anyways. It didn't seem like much was really gained by the end. It was cute to laugh with, but it was difficult to become invested in the plot and the characters. Although Young-Soo and Gi-Tak leave things just a little better, I don't think there was much gain for them, other than being able to say a goodbye.

Although we loved watched Rain in the role of the reincarnated Kim Young-Soo, I think everyone can agree that we also loved watching Rain as the forgotten, real Lee Hae-Joon. I lived for the epilogue island scenes! I laughed so hard!

In conclusion, it was definitely cute although I had a hard time getting invested in it. It's a good recommendation for the ones looking for a laugh and a smile!
