High End Crush 고품격 짝사랑 Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The 2015-2016 Korean mini-series, starring Jung Il-Woo as Choi Sae-Hoon, Jin Se-Yeon as Yoo Yi-Rung, Yoon Bo-Ra as Kang Min-Joo, and Lee Si-Eon as Chief Heo.

Brief synopsis: An entertainment company CEO with everything falls (and falls hard) for a mystery girl with nothing. It’s love at first sight! But Choi Sae-Hoon is just as clueless about his own feelings as he is clueless about everyone else’s lives besides his own. He decides that he must pursue the elusive Yoo Yi-Rung to sign a contract with the company for her pretty face, but winning her heart is going to take a lot more than just money.

For a mini-series, not bad at all! The episodes are a bit shorter than what I’m used to at 15 minutes a piece, and there’s just 20 of them, but I enjoyed watching this one.

The comedy portion of the show is pushed really hard, so the acting is a bit over the top. Especially Jung Il-Woo’s. This is probably his best opportunity to behave like the disrespectful annoying child his mom never wanted and get paid for it (although he HAS held similar roles before). But let’s be real— that’s where the fun is!

This mini-drama also sported participation from the well-beloved kpop group MonstaX! Although the drama is short, there’s still plenty of scenes for any MonstaX fan to be satisfied (well, if a kpop fandom could be satiated in the first place).

And I’ll admit, I liked seeing a cameo appearance from Jung Kyung-Ho!

In conclusion, this one is cute but short. Good for laughs and giggles! 4/5 stars.
