The 2019 South Korean drama starring Yoo In-Na as Oh
Yoon-Seo/Oh Jin-Shim and Lee Dong-Wook as Kwon Jung-Rok. Directed by Park
Joon-Hwa, written by Lee Myung-Suk and Choi Bo-Rum. 16 episodes, each about 1 hour
long.
Brief summary: Oh Yoon-Seo is a has-been actress who has
only been remembered for her pretty face and bad acting. In a last-ditch effort
to reclaim her fame, Yoon-Seo agrees to go undercover as a secretary at a law
firm to prepare for a role in a legal drama. She’s assigned to be a secretary
for Kwon Jung-Rok—a stiff, expressionless attorney. At first, Jung-Rok doesn’t
know what to make of his new secretary who obviously knows nothing about law,
or even about being a secretary. He’s inclined to kick her out of the office
for both their sakes! But after witnessing her kind heart, Jung-Rok decides
that it couldn’t be so bad to take the naïve secretary under his wing… just for
a little while.
For those looking for the perfect follow-up to Lee Dong-Wook
and Yoo In-Na’s chemistry in Goblin, look no further! This drama makes
them both shine and features one of the cutest love stories we’ve ever seen.
Touch Your Heart proves to be the reunion between Yoo
In-Na and Lee Dong-Wook that we were craving after Goblin’s success in 2017.
The stellar chemistry between the co-stars from their 2017 project continues in
their 2019 drama. The cast certainly boosts the expectations, and we were not
disappointed!
The plot is certainly a delightful romantic comedy. The best
entertainment comes from watching the spritely Yoon-Seo try to get under the
boring Jung-Rok’s skin. They are not a duo that happens very easily and the characters
accept all the awkwardness that comes from trying to make a relationship work.
Oh Yoon-Seo is by far one of the most admirable characters we’ve
seen written into existence. Her career hasn’t been what she wishes, but she’s
accepted her shortcomings and simply looks forward to improvement. She’s kind,
something incredibly hard to come by these days. No matter how many negative
things people say about her, she refuses to get upset by it. Oh Yoon-Seo has an
insight and perspective that if everyone else adopted, things like hate and
resentment would dissipate into thin air!
“It’s okay to lie. So long as it’s what’s right for you, I’m
okay with it,” Jung-Rok tells Yoon-Seo. What’s so fascinating about this is
that Jung-Rok respects Yoon-Seo’s decisions, even if it means keeping the truth
from him. He knows that Yoon-Seo is not telling him something important, but he’s
willing to put aside his own curiosities and put his faith in Yoon-Seo. It’s a
pretty impressive development when K-drama lead males go from the wrist-grab to
keeping their distance out of considerate affection, and loving just as purely.
Finding a significant other like that has must be the greatest thing anyone can
attain.
Touch Your Heart is a feel-good picker-upper, an adorable
drama is that sure to keep you entertained through all 16 episodes! 5/5 stars!
